We were so impressed with exceptional service that will be back. Breakfast was generous, wonderful views, lovely location really close to park and ride which is very cheap and easy to get to from The Old Rectory and the partially 1200's church associated with The Old Rectory-a satisfying end to a comfortable 18 hours in North Yorkshire.
All good.

The hotel is in a nicely renovated building with magnificent views of the ample gardens. The design and rooms are lovely, exquisite, and huge. The location is great and stunning, in a lovely area near beautiful yellow fields of "rape seed", park and ride, and surrounding areas.

Nice historic building in nice surroundings with off-road parking. Very friendly and helpful owners. Very good breakfast. We only stayed one night to break up a long journey but would consider staying for longer if holidaying in the area.

Only the v low doorways - fine for me at 5'2" but my partner at 6' cracked his head more than once! - but that's Georgian for you!

If you like old properties in rural settings then this is for you!
The room was very dusty and had a fusty smell and really could have done with a very good clean e.g. think dust behind the toilet. The towels were like sandpaper. No bath or shower gel provided, just hand soap and items which looked like previous guests had left behind!

The rooms were well appointed and very spacious. The breakfast was delicious! The fellow guests were very friendly. Joseph was entertaining and Paul was helpful with directions for our wanderings.
These few things were items that we discussed that might make impressions of the b&b more congenial. The route in from the car park to the b&b ...would be nice to have an entrance that allows people to avoid the busy street. Along the same line, the need to lock and unlock the front door ....was difficult if managing bags..etc...and somehow it gave a bit of a cold feeling or impression to the b&B. At first, our host, Paul somehow seemed rushed ....and was not readily available to ask if there any further questions. We actually had to use a cell phone to call the establishment in order to get specific information. It might be helpful if we were told where to find someone if there was a question...how to contact them...which door to knock on..etc.

The rooms were beautifully decorated and had all the necessary amenities. The location was ideal, with easy access to nearby attractions and a convenient park and ride into the city. The breakfast was delicious, with a variety of options including fresh, homegrown eggs.
The lounge area felt a bit sparse and not very inviting. Our room, although comfortable, did not match the pictures online and lacked a dressing table/desk.

I had a wonderful time here. The owners where very nice and my room was wonderful with a large ensuit and lots of products for the guests to use, even perfume. I saw some of the other rooms and I would have been very happy and comfortable in any of them. They where all luxury rooms at a budjet price. I will definately be going back. Also the breakfast was very good in both variety and quality.
